Moving to Our New Location

Moving to our new location in Bonnie Brae has been an adventure in so many ways. I would like to share a little bit of my experience getting our furniture from California to Denver. Enjoy!
Leaving Corona, California around 2:30pm Friday with the ocean behind us and an 18 hour journey ahead of us.... Just getting to this point in our trip has not been easy.

Thursday leave for airport at 6am with 2 month old baby Saxton. Flight is great unreal deal on our rental car and a surprise visit to the manufacturer a day early. Looking at the furniture all is good but one small detail, they are still working on it!!! Good news it will all be ready to go on the truck by friday, bad news the mirrors may not be done.

Friday morning mirrors are done yipee. Picking up our 26 foot Penske truck at 9 am and the wrong height truck shows up no lift gate on the back and the only one they have that is right is broken...surprise they forgot to tell us there was a brand new truck in stock that was exactly what we needed. Loaded up and ready to take this trip by storm and we come to a screeching halt in California rush hour traffic.

-Traffic, car sick, slow start

-Hour out of Corona more traffic

-Car sick-Two hours into journey truck barely goes 65 speed limit 70

-Saxton has a blow out in carseat

Scenery desert like the only colors are vibrant billboards enticing you to Las Vegas hotels-Three hours in temp 105

-Four hours in.... More traffic getting into Vegas it's like a party on the road littered with caravans of bachelorette parties and groups looking for a fun weekend. So hot cars are broken down all over, speed 15 mph sometimes 10 and nothing between here and Vegas. People freely get out of their cars and take potty breaks.
-Something about really slow traffic - people like to hang their feet out the window?

-Five hours still not to Vegas map says 4 hours so already one hour past  and a ways to go
-No cell service I can't even stare at the map not that the little blue dot is even moving
-Forgot to download movies to iPad choices... Tinkerbell or Tangled, kid games? Bummer

-6 hours in just passed into Nevada a few construction trucks, no lanes blocked just hours of traffic and now the baby is crying

-10:30 Quick dinner back on the road we found out a semi tipped over causing our delay.

-3:30am So tired stay over in Cedar City Utah in the last hotel room available. Who knew this tiny town has so much going on. With 5 hours of sleep we r back on the road oh plus one wrong turn thankfully only a ten min delay. Starbucks in hand we Are 21 hours in and counting......

-Finally on a familiar road I-70 more construction will we ever get home?
-At green river, same drive to come back from lake Powell but unfortunately not the satisfaction of just having a vacation. We will be doing this same drive in a few short weeks for a real trip to Powell

-27 hours the closer we get it's getting greener so far it has been pretty uneventful crossing our fingers it stays that way

-28 hours Denver bound 200 miles hopefully with our tank full we will not make another stop till we hit home

-30 hours struggling up vail pass

-One more big hill to eisenhour tunnel 30 mph cars passing so fast are we moving at all?

-31 1/2 hours we are home!!! A little rest and then off to our new home in Bonnie Brae to meet all of our helpers at the salon. Did the map really tell me 18 hours?

Thank you to all of our helpers along the way. We are finally moved in and everything got here in one piece!
